British–Sierra Leonean vocalist Gwyn Jay Allen and pianist Alex Wilson celebrate the life and music of Louis Armstrong in a show that goes far beyond tribute – tracing the Creole thread that runs through Armstrong's New Orleans roots and connecting it to Allen's own Krio heritage from Freetown, Sierra Leone, and on through the Nyabinghi rhythms of the West Indies and the deep Latin grooves of South America.
