After years of the piano taking centre stage, we’re trying something a little different in the pretty church in Stampa. The double bassist and composer Renaud Garcia-Fons is a unique figure – a true musical explorer who moves effortlessly between jazz, classical and world music. A true virtuoso soloist, he has established himself as one of the leading figures on the contemporary double bass scene. His extraordinary mastery of the bow, his innovative use of spiccato and his choice of a five-string double bass have made him a globally recognised and highly esteemed artist.
