Matthieu Michel Quartet

This is the seventh time that the Festival da Jazz presents the ‘Franco Ambrosetti Jazz Award’. Our good friend, the trumpeter and grand seigneur of European jazz, personally supports selected musicians. In 2025, the prize will go to Matthieu Michel.

Michel is rightly recognised as one of Europe's greatest voices on the trumpet and flugelhorn. His masterful phrasing paired with subtle melodic lines characterise him and set him apart. So it's time for an award from our side. Whether in groups led by Michel or as a sought-after collaborator for countless other projects, his playing has delighted audiences for almost 40 years. We congratulate him and take a bow.
