In the Southern States of the USA you don't just find hot and spicy stews, but also various musical genres that are carefully mixed together, carrying a hot and spicy note. Among them the soulful Gutbucket songs of the Gullah culture, brought across to America by West African slaves (for instance «Kum Bah Yah»). Gullah means «a people blessed by God». The band Randy Tanky was formed in Charleston, South Carolina, out of a conventional jazz quartet. After discovering the strong Gullah roots and joining up with the powerful singer Quiana Parler, they chose to take a different road with great success.
