The Manhattan Transfer
With his 1925 novel “Manhattan Transfer” John Dos Passos created a multi-voiced hymn to the probably most fascinating metropolis on earth. Half a century later the vocal band Manhattan Transfer was founded. They revolutionized and at the same time popularized the polyphonic vocal art between jazz and pop. Tim Hauser, one of the founding members died in 2014, but instead of dissolving the band, Manhatten Transfer carried on, and with Trist Curless, who had performed with Bobby McFerrin in the past, they have found a matching replacement.
