Ordnung muss sein!
In Helge Schneiders wonderful film «Jazzclub» there is a scene, playing in the pedestrian zone of his hometown Mülheim an der Ruhr. Schneider and the jazz musicians Pete York and Jimmy Woode are just sitting there and Schneider asks the Ellington bassist Woode again and again to repeat the word «jazz». In the film Helge Schneider can also be seen as a brilliant jazz pianist as well as a cunning jazz philosopher. This should therefore settle the question, whether it’s appropriate to have Helge Schneider as the closing act of a jazz festival.
