Ella Fitzgerald shot to fame with her song "A-Tisket, A-Tasket", which she recorded with drummer Chick Webb's big band in 1938. In later years the famous song interpreter and break-neck scat virtuoso performed as a guest star with the big bands of Count Basie and Duke Ellington. No question, Fitzgerald had a special relationship with swinging big bands. It is therefore completely logical that Pepe Lienhard's big band is teaming up with Patti Austin to celebrate Ella Fitzgerald's 100th birthday in an appropriate manner. Patti Austin was among the protégés of Quincy Jones. In 2003 she recorded the album "For Ella" that was nominated for a Grammy.
