With «Caipi» the cult guitiarist Kurt Rosenwinkel released a musical piece of work into the wide world half a decade ago that was created over the course of several years as a kind of bricolage, but also featured a number of shortish guest appearances, whereby the long-time Rosenwinkel companion Mark Turner (tenor saxophone) showed up as well as a certain Eric Clapton on the guitar. This work was greeted with much enthusiasm, but also with some surprised reactions, because it sounds completely different to any music that Rosenwinkel had played in the past – namely his vocal contributions. In any case, in the meantime he has founded a Caipi band that can count as the embodiment of the neo fusion movement.
