Hotel Reine Victoria
The exceptional pianist Brad Mehldau is one of the few dyed-in-the-wool improvisers. He keeps his form, even when things become tumultuous. This adherence to form is also a result of Mehldau's thorough study and curious engagement with the masters of classical music – in his live performances he has caused quite a stir with improvisations of Bach. His solo recitals are not only characterized by his adherence to form, but also by his exceptionally sensitive and almost liquid touch, allowing him to bring the slightest musical nuances to the fore.
