Maria Markesini Quartet

Maria Markesini has been called a pirate’s bride by the press. In reality though during her performance, the passionate and impulsive Greek with her long red hair and freckles, wears her heart on her sleeve. It’s hard to believe, but Maria Markesini started her career as a classical pianist. When she injured her hand shortly before a performance, she decided to have her “coming out” as a jazz singer with a soft spot for pop and folk. The audience was of course dumbfounded at first, but completely rapturous in the end.
