40th Anniversary

Despite writing music for film («Das Boot») or television («Tatort»), Klaus Doldinger is above all a stage animal. The saxophonist, who is known for his full-bodied, pervading sound, had his greatest success with the formation Passport, which can be seen as Germany’s answer to Weather Report. It’s hard to believe that Passport has been around for more than 40 years. The reason the band’s music still sounds as fresh as ever has a lot to do with Doldinger’s restlessness. Passport got their latest refreshing treatment on a trip to Marocco.
