When it comes to fusion jazz the German saxophone player Klaus Doldinger and his band Passport still belong to the innovative spearhead of the movement – a fact that could be experienced last year in St. Moritz where the band celebrated its 40-year anniversary. Doldinger and his men immediately made the audience euphoric. No Wonder, because in his tunes, Doldinger creates a mix of suggestive, groovy melodies and moods, which make it impossible to sit still. Furthermore, Doldinger is by no means Passport’s only spectacular soloist.
