In the shadow of Hollywood, Los Angeles is home to a lively jazz scene. One of the flagships of this scene is the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, which was formed in 1985. This formation is a top-class big band that strictly sticks to Duke Ellington’s motto “It Don’t Mean a Thing If It Ain’t Got that Swing”. The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra has also earned merits accompanying solo singers like Diana Krall and Charles Aznavour. As an avowed fan of Frank Sinatra and Nat “King” Cole, John Pizzarelli fits in perfectly with this big band.
