McCoy Tyner Quartet

At the side of the ecstatic John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner developed into a trail-blazing, power-play pianist, gifted with almost titanic energy, with an impressive range of expression of both turbulent single-note whirlwind and powerful block chords. However, it would be wrong to reduce Tyner to his role as the Coltrane Pianist. He is also a sophisticated bandleader and creative composer of unforgettable pieces like the wonderful ballad «Aisha», the sweeping «Blues on the Corner» or the brilliant «Passion Dance».
