The fact that Till Brönner has become Germany’s most successful jazz export is not least due to the fact the trumpeter, who was strongly influenced by Chet Baker, embodies a contemporary variation of coolness. For Brönner jazz isn’t a style that has to be interpreted puristically, but more of a life style. The message of his relaxed, groovy sound is: You don’t have to take everything so damned seriously all the time. Relax, lean back and enjoy yourself. And there is even room for romance in Brönner’s music – as he says himself: «Actually, I always play for the woman of my dreams.»
