Sapore di Sale, Sapore di Mare

Gino Paoli can be called a trailblazer of the influential and successful Cantautori movement. Along with Luigi Tenco and Fabrizio de Andre, he was part of a group of songwriters in Genoa that took up the cause of reviving Italian music. Later Paoli got Lucio Dalla to join his group and paved his way to success. Paoli wrote some of his most beautiful songs for Ornella Vanoni, with whom he had a passionate love affair: «Senza fine» and «Il cielo in una stanza.» With his song «Un altro amore» he managed a podium finish at the San Remo festival in 2002.
