Timo Lassy is the new shooting star of the Finish jazz scene that is worth discovering. His debut album influenced by artists like John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Cannonball Adderley and Pharoah Sander is called The Soul & Jazz of Timo Lassy. And this is meant quite literally. Lassy’s music is firmly rooted in Art Blakey’s and Horace Silver’s Blue Note sound of the 1950s and 1960s: the pushing beats and crisp grooves go straight to your legs and ensure positive vibrations for your heart and mind.
