Nicola Conte

Quite often, new, groundbreaking musical movements come to life at the periphery rather than at the centre. The club Fez in the Southern Italian city of Bari is a real hot spot for an exciting mix of a kind of acid jazz fusion of soul jazz, bossa nova, electronica and elaborate soundtracks reminiscent of Ennio Morricone. The mastermind behind Fez is Nicola Conte who sometimes performs as DJ or guitarist and has an excellent reputation as innovative songwriter, drawing his inspirations from the likes of Dylan Thomas, Langston Hughes or Jack Kerouac.
