The Manhattan Transfer
Travelling through the streets of New York at night as a taxi driver, Tim Hauser decided to try his luck and form a vocal quartet. Back then, he had of course no idea that this would be the beginning of one of music’s greatest success stories of all times. For many years The Manhattan Transfer has moved forward from one success to another. In 1981 they made music history by becoming the first band to win Grammy Awards in both pop and jazz categories. And sure enough, The Manhattan Transfer feature an impressively wide repertoire of musical styles.
