James Carter
What a whirlwind! James Carter is a real livewire and wins over the audience as a daring saxophone player, with his chittering flute lines or his boisterously chattering bass clarinet. There is probably no other musician who can do the balancing act between traditional and modern tunes as easily as Carter. After successively playing in the bands of the two antagonists Wynton Marsalis and Lester Bowie, Carter was well equipped for a spectacular career as a jazz musician – and he just keeps on going.
