Haens'che Weiss & Vali Mayer Quartet
One legendary figure emerged from the European jazz scene of the 20th century: the virtuous guitarist Django Reinhardt. After his early death in 1953 John Lewis and his Modern Jazz Quartet came up with the composition “Django” and created a lasting memorial for this great musician. At the time Duke Ellington said that jazz had lost one of the few real talents. Who would be better suited to pay homage to this legend of jazz, born 100 years ago, than the superb “Gipsy-Jazzer” featuring Hansche Weiss and Vali Mayer?
